Can I pick your brain about which headphone suits me the most?
Sure! Just email me or use the chat feature on the bottom of the page. These are headphones I use personally, so I'll happily talk shop about their uses, pairings and features.
Why the name "Acorn Audio"?
For about ten years now, various people have initially read my "Aornic" tag as "Acorn", so I decided to just run with it here.
Do you ship outside of the European Union?
We currently only ship to countries in the European Union.
Will you carry any other brands?
As business expands, we hope to take on several other quality brands that deserve a place in the UK market.
Are your ZMF Headphones custom-made? Is there a lead time?
No. All sold ZMF Headphones are imported in advance from the USA in stock form of each wood offering. Therefore, interested customers will bypass the standard 4-6 week lead time and receive their new headphones within days.
What is your return policy?
In accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel the purchase of your goods from us up to 14 days from the day you received them. Upon returning the goods to us we will refund you the full amount including the standard postage cost within 14 days. A 25% restocking charge will be made if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of you handling them, for instance if a seal has been broken.
Due to hygiene reasons we are unable to offer refunds on any earphones or earpads that are purchased from us unless they are faulty.
What shipping service do you use?
For full-sized headphones, we have found that UPS Standard is both reliable and swift in delivery. UK Customers can expect their packages safely delivered within 1-2 working days.
For smaller orders, such as earphones and earpads, we have opted for DPD (international) and Hermes (domestic).
Will you be selling B-stock items?
All stock imported will be retail-ready. However, on some occasions there will be sales of B-stock and ex-Demo headphones.
What is the warranty period for ZMF headphones?
The service and repairs warranty will be two years. Any items in need of such will be returned to us and then sent to ZMF for repair - after which they will be shipped to the buyer at no added cost to them.
I'm on New Malden High Street but I can't find Audio Sanctuary. Where is it?
It's a bit tricky at first, look for the sign that says "the hidden Hi-Fi store". It should be in front of a small path next to the Churchods that leads to Audio Sanctuary - also known as Unilet.
Is my ZMF headphone guaranteed to look exactly like the stock photo on this site?
No. The nature of working with wood, particularly finely-grained exotic wood, is that there is a degree of variance between each unit. While we can't guarantee that your headphone will look like the stock photo, we can attest to the fact that it will be unique to you.
Will my ZMF headphone need an amplifier?
You will be able to get them to decent listening volume without one, but having one is strongly encouraged regardless.
Will you be making any trade show appearances? I can't make it to London to demo the ZMF headphones at Audio Sanctuary...

Zach Mehrbach Films, as Zach was a filmmaker and professor who pivoted into building headphones full-time.
